| Problems for Christians to Understand The subject of Christianity has been touched on several times in this book. This section is particularly for Christians because much of what you know is also wrong as well. First the establishment of denominations has been a disservice. A denomination is essentially a franchise brand of Christianity presented as a complete package. The doctrines are considered final and complete so learning and maturity are seldom emphasized. The original purpose of Christianity (individual growth and maturity) might be summed up in Ephesians; And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: Ephesians 4:11-15 This is how Christianity should work (Christian leaders teaching Christians how to be like Christ). Since what is commonly done in the name of Christ falls so far from this, we might surmise that Satan had a hand in the current configuration. Paul wrote the Corinthians that since they argued and disputed with each other it was indicative of their immaturity. Few people can be as brutal to each other as some Christians can be.  A Christian who has gotten this far in this book may not be one of the brutal ones because there was so much to be angry with earlier, that he would not have made it this far. However, there can be much for a Christian that recognizes a particular environment he is in to consider if he should be making any changes. |
