| Truth (The Source of Freedom) The key to knowing what is wrong in the world and in ourselves is to know truth. Since a knowledge of truth can also be applied to ourselves, we may find a growing humility. Humility often does not feel good initially. However, there are advantages in humility. One becomes less easily offended. The bible says that God is able to give more grace to the humble (perhaps as a result of an alignment with truth).  Being able to discern truth provides options. It allows one to avoid all sorts of traps. It can help avoid wasted time such as trying to curry favor from others, conform to their expectations, or get sucked into their propositions.   Truth, however, is not only limited to self-protection. By being able to clearly see what is of value, a course through life can be charted that is truly rewarding. A life can be built that has both depth and breadth and satisfies. Truth also works like a radio receiver tuned to a station that transmits truth. This allows those so “tuned” to recognize each other and that also which is of truth. This brings us to consider God the creator. The person who has read this book so far may still be skeptical. However, if one is honest, the possibility of a creator God is not impossible. Hopefully this book was able to dispel enough of what is false in the world so that one might begin to see the existence of a creator God as even probable. |
