  Technology and Universities The Practical Taken to Endorse the Foolish The timing of evolution is critical because if it is introduced too early in history, it remains an obscure academic curiosity that is simply ignored by most people. It has to be introduced both at the start of the Industrial Revolution and when colleges are established. Colleges would be used to be the “source” of alternative “truth”. At this time in addition to Darwin, Freud and Marx are embraced as prophets of the new religion of secularism. Darwin: The universe created itself. Marx: Everyone should have everything. Freud: Morality is fluid. The Industrial Revolution would transform everyone’s daily life with incremental advancements. These would be called “scientific” breakthroughs when they were simply the next obvious step of technology. The word “science” would come to be spoken almost reverentially as sacred to the new religion of secularism (the worship of man in general and self in particular). If colleges were the temples of the new religion, “scientists” were the priests. Proclamations would flow out through media and education channels.   In Germany in the 1930s the “science” of phrenology (reading the bumps on people’s heads) was taught in major universities. It carried the imprint of “science” and was endorsed by “experts”. People accepted the assertions of those “smarter” as truth which seemed to be verified by the rapidly increasing technology of daily life. Margaret Sanger and Adolph Hitler took the idea of evolution to its natural conclusion of making the world “better” by extermination of those who were ‘inferior”. Technology advancement created an environment that seemed to confirm that progress was being made. As businesses were turning into corporations, the new educated elite were needed to administer them. An additional characteristic aided in the propagation of what was false, that of specialization. As knowledge of God and his word (two sources of truth) diminish, pride accompanied with blindness ascend. Increasing areas of specialization allowed something like the the Kinsey report of sexuality to pass for “science” in the mid 20th century. Funded by the Rockefeller Foundation Kinsey interviewed prostitutes and prison inmates and published his results as typical of average people.The fact that it is still often defended and cited as “scientific” and accurate is a shameful testimony to how easily people came to accept as truth whatever garbage came out of colleges. Pushing God aside as mythical or an amusingly simpleminded belief of a bygone age was made easier when colleges expanded with government grants, endowments, tenure, academic accolades, and prestigious positions. These make one impervious to actual truth.  |
